The centre can provide many aspects of outdoor education,
we tailor it to suit your needs. We can offer adventure-type
activities such as rock climbing, canoeing or orienteering;
or team-building exercises to suit your group. Mountain-biking
is another possibility but we rely on people bringing their
own bicycles. We also offer educational packages such as
environmental studies aimed generally at younger aged groups.
Most groups visiting the centre tend to have a mix-and-match
timetable for their day’s activities, but this will
depend on weather, staff availability and your preferences.
All activities at the centre have been risk assessed, and
we work with a good pupil-instructor ratio, particularly
with rock climbing and canoeing. Some of our staff have
national qualifications in mountaineering, climbing, canoeing
and off-road biking. Most staff are first-aid qualified
and all those working with young children have the necessary
C.R.B. checks. Communication throughout the forest is maintained
using two-way radios.
