Canoeing, kayaking and raft-building

Within a few hundred metres of the centre lies the Clydach reservoir. The reservoir is owned by Welsh Water, and Daerwynno Outdoor Centre has access and paddling rights to it. It is two to three hundred metres long and particularly suitable for novice paddlers.

Daerwynno Outdoor Centre owns open canoes, kayaks and the required safety equipment. In addition, the centre offers raft-building activity, where groups build their own craft to paddle across the reservoir.

Safety is paramount on the water, and we enjoy a good pupil-instructor ratio, with nationally qualified instructors, both in the water and around the banks. Most water-based activities take part in the summer months, due to the cold temperatures, but adult groups may venture into the water all year round, if desired.
