Staff
A team of dedicated volunteers along with two part-time
employees manage the day-to-day running of the centre. Together
they lead groups on day activities, attend monthly committee
meetings, assist in the maintenance of the centre and grounds,
and put on exhibitions at local venues.
The volunteers at Daerwynno come from all walks of life,
many of whom are school teachers who have experience of
working with younger people, and all share a common interest
and enthusiasm for the great outdoors. In addition, some
staff have gained national qualifications in mountaineering,
canoeing and mountain-biking. It has always been our aim
to develop young leaders at the centre and, recently, two
have gained their kayak, level 1, coaching awards.
As we often work with younger people in the outdoor environment,
we have enhanced CRB disclosures and first-aid certificates.
Through the continued efforts of the volunteers, the centre
has enjoyed years of success.
