Partners
The Group are members of the Ynysybwl Regeneration Partnership
and have been part of a study to regenerate the area. The
efforts of our volunteers to provide experiences in the
outdoors whilst helping to regenerate the area have been
acknowledged by our many partners.
We work closely with Merthyr and Rhondda Cynon Taf Groundwork
Trust and, together, have produced leaflets showing the
St Gwynno forest paths, improved footpaths and built bridges
in the locality.
A grant supplied by Cyd Coed funded the rock-climbing boulder
in 2003 and, shortly afterwards, the Coalfields Regeneration
Trust funded a part-time post for outdoor activities and
a minibus. In 2005 Environment Wales was approached and
a grant, secured with funding from the Welsh Assembly Government,
enabled us to employ another part time worker to promote
environmental education.
At present a grant from CCW is enabling us to work with pupils from Year 9 from participating local schoo; in a project which involves team building and volunteering. If you would like to find out more about the project please contact us.
